Biography

Cameron commenced legal practice in 1997 as an article clerk. He completed articles and graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Laws in 1999. He was admitted as a Solicitor in Queensland in April 2000 and to the High Court of Australia in 2004.

Through his articles and early years as a Solicitor, Cameron practiced in a variety of areas such as property, commercial, personal injury, litigation and estates. This experience provided Cameron with a broad knowledge base which allows him to apply in understanding and resolving disputes.

Prior to working in the legal field Cameron completed a Bachelor of Commerce at Griffith University in 1991 and was employed by a major financial institution until 1997. This experience allows him an understanding of commercial matters.

Cameron has practiced and worked exclusively on the Gold Coast and is aware of and appreciates the commercial landscape of the region. He has made the active decision to continue to work in the Gold Coast and is committed to the development of the region.

Cameron joined OMB Solicitors in 2014.

Since 2004 Cameron has worked almost exclusively for clients in commercial litigation disputes. He has conducted matters in all jurisdictions ranging from the Queensland Consumer and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) to the Queensland Court of Appeal.

Examples of a selection of matters Cameron has been involved with in various areas include:

A dispute that arose from the enforcement of a Mortgagees rights under a mortgage against a delinquent Mortgagor.

Proceedings were instituted by the mortgagor which were successfully defended in both the Supreme Court Trial Division and the Court of Appeal.


A contractual property dispute concerning the termination of an off the plan sale contract as a result of a negative building inspection report.

The vendor instituted Supreme Court litigation which resulted in a successful defence of the matter at trial.


Supreme Court proceedings concerning an off the plan property contractual dispute, in particular the ability of a developer to assign the obligations under a contract to develop a lot.

This required determination of whether a developer had improperly assigned obligations under the contract and whether it had done all things reasonable to effect registration of a subdivision.


A dispute concerning the true ownership of a property contrary to the registered owner status on title which involved an analysis and application of trust law.

District Court proceedings followed which resulted in a successful outcome at trial in that the property was ordered to be transferred to reflect the true legal ownership position.

Cameron has been involved in Surf Lifesaving since 1987 both as a patrolling member and a competitor in surf sports. He has been a member of North Burleigh Surf Lifesaving Club since 1992 and he currently holds the position of club secretary.

He is also the Secretary of the Gold Coast Kayak Club Inc.
