Biography

Samuel Layani studied at Bond University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. Samuel was a Committee Member of LawLink, a community engagement Committee connecting students to the profession while studying at Bond University.

Samuel commenced his career at OMB while studying as a law clerk. After completion of his practical legal training, Samuel was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in December 2020.

Samuel is an integral part of the Insurance and Litigation team at OMB Solicitors, where he is an Associate. Samuel works across varying matters including Plaintiff motor vehicle accident, public liability, and medical negligence matters, while also acting for insured and uninsured Defendants.

Samuel also practices in general litigation to include commercial and business dispute and undertakes works in the Planning and Environment Court.

Samuel acts for a variety of client, having made appearances in both Federal and State Court in Insurance and Commercial Litigation.

Having been born and raised on the Gold Coast, Samuel has developed strong community ties. Sam has nothing except time for his clients, colleagues and friends. Along with being an active Committee member of the Gold Coast District Law Association, Sam has previously been involved with Rosie’s Friends of the Street on the Gold Coast. With an innate ability to care and provide empathy, Sam has a level of confidence that allows him to speak up for those around him who aren’t heard, in the communities that he is a part of.

Outside of the office, Samuel is a true Gold Coaster spending his spare time, fishing, surfing, playing golf and enjoying what the Gold Coast has to offer. Samuel is fluent in French and colleagues in the office consider him quite the foodie.

Sam aspires to grow the Gold Coast District Law Association and expand the legal community along the Gold Coast. Sam plans to continue to progress in his role at OMB.
