Biography
Thomas was admitted into practice as a solicitor in Queensland in February 2014 after obtaining his Juris Doctor from Bond University in 2013. He was also admitted to the High Court of Australia in April 2014 and holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Management and Marketing from Griffith University (2008).
Thomas was made a Partner of the firm in 2021.
Prior to entering law Thomas worked for Australia’s largest independent Media Agency at the time as an Account Executive as a media planner/buyer.
Tom joined OMB Solicitors in August 2013 and works mainly in the area of Body Corporate Law. His expertise in Body Corporate expands across all areas including but not limited to, providing general advice to bodies corporate and their committees, assignment of management rights, variations to management rights, caretaker performance reviews, enforcement of by-laws, drafting by-laws and new community management statements, building defects, building/rectification works and contract review, levy recovery, general disputes and caretaker disputes.
Tom also has experience in a range of areas including but not limited to trade mark registration, development work including creation of a bodies corporate and subdivisions of land, general debt recovery, contract review, property conveyancing, commercial leasing, employment law and general litigation mostly involving bodies corporate (BCCM Office, QCAT and the Courts). Tom has also appeared in the Magistrates Court on minor criminal matters.
Tom is a current member of the Queensland Law Society and Strata Community Association (Qld). Tom is one of the founding members of ‘People In Strata’ which is a not-for-profit organisation that supports the fostering of a positive Strata Industry for all providers to the industry. Tom is a current volunteer management committee member for People In Strata.
Thomas acts almost exclusively for bodies corporate. His depth of expertise in this area is extensive and forever growing.
